And upon reflection, Muhammad is being unduly harsh to its appearance. It doesn’t really resemble the most common forms of inuksuk, but it DOES resemble the inunnguaq.

We cannot rewrite history, but to say that Europeans are the “Saviours of the World”, and that everything was chaos before they arrived is quite off IMHO. Europeans wouldn’t have survived in Canada if it weren’t for the natives. (scurvy anyone?)
“White Man’s Burden”? in 2009?
wow, thanks for pointing that article out.
i think it’s interesting to note the article’s odd mentions of marijuana as some kind of influence on the mascots. what exactly was the basis for such an assumption, and how about examining the actual entity that produced both the mascots and the videos? it’s a marketing company, for crying out loud. i’m pretty sure the consultants didn’t lock themselves in the boardroom, toke up, and come out with the most devastatingly well designed and planned marketing yet for an Olympics season.
if their hypocritical and double-sided criticism of the mascots and the logo doesn’t reek of hysterical partisanship, then at least their seemingly unrelated drug agenda puts them pretty far right of the center, and i sure thought the bit about “European” saviors was a joke at first. what an awful article and a hateful author.
