    I’ll admit it: I can be a bit paranoid when it comes to personal freedoms. In a recent podcast, Cory Doctrow mentioned how the Internet and our modern communications networks were absolutely essential to the widespread non-leadership organization of something like the Occupy movement. He wasn’t specifically talking about SOPA at the moment, although there had been a lot of discussion of it earlier in the talk. Suddenly they started coming together for me; especially, as you mention, in the light of recent events from Egypt and Libya.

    No, I don’t think this is the “true purpose” of the bill or any crap like that. I think it’s just a nice convenient added benefit for those that would abuse their power.
