The U.S. Courts struck down the National Day of Prayer (May 6) last month, citing it as a call to religious action and stating that the government cannot pass laws determining when people should and shouldn’t pray. This falls right in line with what the founding fathers intended. To quote Jefferson, “Every religious society has a right to determine for itself the time for these exercises, and the objects proper for them, according to their own particular tenets; and right can never be safer than in their hands, where the Constitution has deposited it.”

Not coincidentally, today is also the National Day of Reason, celebrating reason and “raising public awareness about the persistent threat to religious liberty posed by government intrusion into the private sphere of worship.”

So here’s a reasonable response to the situation.
