Despite Iowa and Vermont’s rather steller examples, the rest of humanity’s doing its damnedest this week to show how meanspirited, stupid and ignorant it can be.
- There’s M. Brown, the Texas representative who doesn’t seem to understand that Asian Americans are citizens of her own country, and that Asian last names are American names.
- Then there’s the laughable anti-gay-marriage scare ad, Gathering Storm, purportedly full of real people but actually full of actors, and the legal cases all discussed aren’t about gay marriage but rather about things like how doctors are supposed to uphold their hippocratic oath to actually take care of people even if they happen to be gay.
- And don’t get me started on the conservative crackpots planning to teabag America on tax day.
- (Edited to ad): And let’s not forget Michelle Bachmann and the rest of the conservative crackpots claiming that President Obama’s programs = reeducation camps, communism and an end to the American way of life. (And for the record, the answers to those are “no“, “no“, and “despite everything Bush tried to do for eight years to do just that, no.”
- The hits just keep on coming. I just found out Morality in Media felt it moral to issue a press release about the Binghamton shootings linking it to support for gay marriage.
Twitch, twitch… shudder. The stupid, it burrrns.
There’s just too much for one man to mock.
That’s where you all come in. That’s right, it’s time for a create-your-own GPP, starring Moses, C’thulhu, and whatever blunder of the day tickles your fancy. Reader submissions that crack me up may get posted here.
Have at!

Hello. And you missed yet another tidbit on badly-disguised religious bigotry which I chose for my own humble attempt. I don’t know where to mail you, or how to embed in this page, so I posted my version at my LJ, hope you don’t mind -and really hope you like it! Here it is: http://abbadie.livejournal.com/18233.html
I don’t know if this is what you’re looking for.
But I’m pretty sure it’s stupid. And it burns.
Enjoy.

“I’m not sure if it’s good to have freedom or not,” Chan said at the Boao Forum. “If you’re too free, you’re like the way Hong Kong is now. It’s very chaotic. Taiwan is also chaotic.”
Chan added, “I’m gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we’re not being controlled, we’ll just do what we want.”
